Scott Hums is a website manager and internet marketing consultant. Scott is currently the Digital Media Director at WISH-TV in Indianapolis where he oversees the TV station’s digital initiatives. He is also a consultant with the web start-up GoStuffed.com a taxidermy database site.
Before coming to Indianapolis, Scott worked for ABC 4 / CW30 in Salt Lake City, Utah as the Web Channel Director. Earlier in his career, Scott worked in South Bend, Indiana for NBC affiliate WNDU. Scott ran the web department for the station. Before that, he worked in the newsroom doing a variety of behind-the-scenes jobs. While at WNDU, Scott contributed to the award winning Notre Dame football pre-game show “Countdown to Kickoff” and the Notre Dame coach’s show “Inside Notre Dame Football.” Scott was also a special projects producer, photographer, and editor working on a number of special reports.
Scott is a graduate of Ball State University where he received a B.S. in Telecommunication with an emphasis in Television Production. While at BSU, Scott worked on a number of programs at the student television station and at WIPB, the on-campus PBS affiliate. Scott was voted “Member of the Year” twice by his peers and won a number of awards, including the national Mark of Excellence from the Society of Professional Journalists.
In his spare time Scott enjoys spending time with friends and family. Scott is a huge sports fan and loves watching college and professional football and basketball. During the fall, he can be found cheering on the Fighting Irish football team and hoping his fantasy football team makes the playoffs.
Scott’s favorite holiday is the first weekend of March Madness. Many have tried to convince him it’s not a valid holiday. He is convinced those people are wrong.
Since moving back to Indiana, Scott has reinvested in the Indianapolis sports scene cheering for the Pacers and Colts. He’s still known to check in on his Utah teams, mainly the Utah Jazz and Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake, who Scott followed while out west. Scott also enjoys hiking, skiing, and swimming. He is also a big fan of television and film. Scott’s seen a number of movies at the Sundance film festival and also tries to see every Best Picture nominee every year.
